Brief

Award winning Commercial Interior Designers SquareDot, approached Kolpa UK to develop, construct and install a 14-seater boardroom table for the IM Groups new offices in Solihull, Birmingham UK.

Solution

The A-symmetrical wedge-shaped tabletop is fabricated from white Kerrock, made in 4 sections, jointed, glued and sanded to a satin finish on site to form one large monolithic tabletop. The cantilevered support structure is constructed from mild steel box sections, pre-welded into two sections, bolted together on site and anchor fixed to the floor slab.

The steel structure is clad in white Kerrock to form a smooth, organic form. The tabletop has two built-in connectivity ports, via flush fitting access flaps, so laptops can be connected to the audio-visual equipment or presentations and conference calling.

The end result is a striking white form, made from super durable solid surface – Kerrock with minimal support structure.
